This trail is about four miles round trip. Currently we are expecting temperatures somewhere between the high 70s to low 80s with partly cloudy skys.
Spring Fork is a pleasent picturesque spot along the South Loop Trail to Mt Charleston.
We will meet at the South Loop trailhead by 0950 in order to depart by 1000.
Trailhead:
This hike is located in Kyle Canyon up in the Spring Mountains, about 1 hour northwest of Las Vegas.
From town, drive out to Mt Charleston turning on Kyle Canyon Road. You'll continue down Kyle eventually going through a big hairpin bend to the left. You will wind up a hill, and shortly arrive at a wide parking lot on the uphill side of the road just before the entrance to Cathedral Rock Picnic Area. This is a free parking lot but if it is full there is a pay lot just past.
The South Loop trailhead is just a bit past the upper Cathedral Rock trailhead.
If you have any questions contact me.
Hope to see you out there.

PS The website is back up and online. Soon pictures of the last two camping trips, the Grand Canyon and Delamar, will be posted.
The Normal Note: Remember to bring water, snacks, etc. Dress accordingly and wear comfortable hiking/running shoes/boots.
The Monsoon Note: Late July and August is the monsoon season here in the desert, especially up in Mt. Charleston. As such it is important to keep a vigilant eye on the weather so that you do not get caught out in one of the frequent afternoon storms.
