When: | 07 Jul 07 | Where: | Mt Charleston | What: | Fletcher Canyon | Distance: | 4 mi | Elevation Gain: | 500+ ft | The Plan: | Most of this hike will be along a streambed which climbs into a canyon.. Typically there is at least a small amount of water, however, this is one of the driest years up at Mt Charleston. One upside perhaps of this excessively dry year is that CJ may not step into a pool of water again up there.
General Info:
This trail is 4 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 500+ feet. Currently we are expecting temperatures in the mid to high 80s and clear skies.
We will meet at the trailhead by 0915 and depart by 0930. For those on the southern end of town looking to carpool get in touch with CJ or myself so we can give you a time to meet at Eaglecloud.
Trailhead:
This hike is located in Kyle Canyon up in the Spring Mountains, about 1 hour northwest of Las Vegas.
From town, drive out to Mt Charleston turning on Kyle Canyon Road. The trailhead is a little over 18 miles up Kyle canyon Road. There are signs on the right side of the road marking the trailhead with parking on the opposite side of the road.
If you have any questions contact either CJ or myself.
Hope to see you out there.
