This trail is 5 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 2000 feet.
You can join us either at Eaglecloud or the trailhead. We will depart Eaglecloud at 0845 with the goal of setting off from the trailhead no later than 0930.
Trailhead:
Take Charleston out to the Red Rocks Scenic Loop Road. Drive a little over 2.5 miles of the loop and take a right on Sandstone Quarry Road. Take this brief road to the parking area, this is the trailhead.
I remember this being a difficult hike which really worked my cardio as I huffed and puffed my way slowly towards the peak. In less than half a mile you will climb 800 feet on the route up. Sadly this means you will descend 800 feet in less than a half mile on the way down.
