|The Plan: ||General Info: |
This hike is about 4.4 miles up and back and follows an old stretch of railway bed used in the construction of Hoover Dam.
This is a fairly easy and very popular hike along a wide well graded railroad bed friendly to children, pets and most Lost Hikers. The current forecast is for partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid seventies.
We will meet up and depart from the trailhead at 1000.
Drive south on Highway 93, through Boulder City, to Lakeshore Scenic Drive. Turn left (north) onto Lakeshore Scenic Drive and drive north for a few tenths of a mile to the Lake Mead Visitor Center turnoff. Pass the turnoff, drive another 0.1 miles, and turn right (southeast) into a large parking area, this is the trailhead.
